Suadala offers a variety of art events with themes from art and film to photography and museum exhibits. The art can range from the contemporary to the classic and can either be local or international. Each occasion will have a specific theme. We work very closely with art curators and gallery owners to guarantee quality and offer you the finest of Beijing’s art.
What is the culture like?
Suadala offers a variety of gatherings with historical and/or cultural significance. These events can range from theme parties at historical villas to workshops on cultural activities or visits to historical locations.
Do I need to be an art connoisseur?
The simple answer to this question is no. We welcome anyone interested in art & culture, whether it is as a professional, as an enthusiast, or as a complete newcomer. Suadala is the ideal place to become more art savvy and to mix with people from all walks of life.
Where are your events located?
Beijing offers an extensive selection of contemporary galleries, exquisite museums, and world-renowned cultural places located throughout the city. One of the more well known places is the 798 Art District in Chaoyang. Familiar places will be rediscovered during our events in a more intimate manner. Up and coming creative areas such as Cao Chang Di, Guomao, and Cuigezhuang District will also be discovered.
Are your events both Chinese and English speaking?
We have events where we cater to both Chinese and English speaking guests. However, we do have events where it is specifically only for the Chinese-speaking or English-speaking guests. This will be clearly stated in the event announcement.
What’s the dress code usually?
The correct attire for our events is smart-casual.
Who attends the events?
The Suadala event attracts a mix of creative and urban professionals such as architects, lawyers, teachers, diplomats, IT consultants, artists, writers, investors, art lovers, and entrepreneurs.
Who is Suadala?
Suadala is derived from Suadela, a goddess in the Roman mythology. Suadela is the goddess of persuasion, particularly in romance, seduction and love. She is strongly associated with Venus. Her Greek name is Peitho.
Who is behind Suadala?
Founder, Oscar Woo Venhuis, has dedicated himself to Luxury Brand Strategy Planning & Consulting for more than 10 years. His passion for art, innovation, and attention to detail are the driving forces behind many of his successful local and global strategies. Oscar has a Master’s (with distinction) in Strategic Design Management and has lived in Seoul, Amsterdam, London, and Hong Kong.
Co-founder, Thye Wong, is an accomplished entrepreneur and finance trader with a flair for innovative marketing. Originally from the Kingdom of Brunei Darussalam and having spent the last 8 years in Canada, he speaks fluent Mandarin, English and Malay.

What kind of events does Suadala Atelier organize?
Suadala Atelier runs educational and charity events. The educational events cultivate an interest in the local diversity of art & culture while the charity events pledge Suadala’s support to the industry. Educational events include private dinners with artists, art workshops art walks, and themed events. Art auctions and the promotion of art students’ work make up the charity events.
What is the private dinner event with artists?
Through our extensive network in the art & culture industry, we are able to arrange for private fine dining events with artists at art galleries or at their private studios.
What is the art workshop event?
We run art workshops on a certain topic or style of art through art galleries.
What is the art walk?
An art walk is a tour of a number of galleries and can include a style of art or a theme that we organize.
What is the theme event?
We organize various events with an art or culture theme and can include historical locations along with entertainment.

Suadala Suite organizes business functions through the establishment of a platform for the creative industry. This platform focuses on both connecting individuals and organizations within the local creative industry and assisting all other organizations, local or international to connect with this local creative industry.

Events include regular networking events, forums, and expos.

Suadala aims to provide a platform where creative professionals can network with one another while hearing about the creative industry from guest speakers.

What is Suadala Allure?
Suadala Allure is our private social event.
What kind of events does Suadala Allure organize?
Suadala Allure organizes private social events. They are designed to offer opportunities to meet new friends and potential partners. Suadala Allure private events are organized with the sole purpose of celebrating and embracing the single lifestyle. Events include socials like regular brunches and singles events like our singles events at art galleries or the rickshaw dating events.
How does the singles event at art galleries work?
This event is by invitation only. If you wish to attend our events, the first step is to send us an e-mail or contact us with your details. Depending on the size of the venue, there will typically be about 60 singletons attending the event, equally divided by gender.
At arrival, Suadala hosts will warmly welcome you and provide you with a discreet name badge. To ‘break the ice,’ they will introduce you to a number of eligible singletons during the event. There are no restrictions, time pressures, or match making expectations. Just relax, be yourself, and enjoy the occasion. The occasion will usually last 2 hours but people are more than welcome to stay after the event to mingle and chat the night away.
Who attends these single events at the art galleries?
Lilian Wang is a dedicated university teacher in her late twenties. She is a bright, outgoing, and sociable individual who frequently meets up with her close friends. Most of her friends are either married or in long-term relationships. Lilian is very fond of her friends’ company but she would like to mingle with people other than her couple-friends more often. Her girlfriends have introduced her to eligible singles but she has found meeting a stranger on her own for coffee, lunch, or dinner to be a nerve-wrecking endeavor. She wishes she could meet like-minded singles in a more relaxed and distinguished way.
John Smith has just arrived from London to start a new assignment to a large multi-national law firm in Beijing. He is in his early thirties and enjoys wine, travel, and literature. He appreciates every chance he gets to visit an exhibition at a gallery or a museum. John is not the typical ‘bar-goer’ and avoids large crowds. Although he has an extensive business network, he would like to broaden his social and local circle of friends in Beijing.
What is the rickshaw-dating event?
It’s simple, really. Be at the venue on time for a quick introduction to the rules of the exciting evening. Afterwards, climb into the rickshaw and drink in the romantic sights of Houhai. Every 5 minutes, the rickshaws will stop to allow the gentlemen to move to the next rickshaw, while the ladies stay seated. This will go on until all the ladies have talked to all the gentlemen. The evening ends with cocktails back at the teahouse.
